Reviews of the novel

Leszek Szymanski writer, critic, Doctor of Historical Sciences of the USA.

In the current extraordinary, because the three-volume novel under the title of Crete road you can find many historical truths, and also track the fate of Michael, a boy found in the steppe, which you brought up Polish nobleman, and who by zeal in the service of the Republic, has won honors and recognition from many nobles and especially in King John Casimir. In the book are interwoven destinies of the Republic of love and valor, he was undoubtedly a breakthrough period in Polish history, where such tangles often happened.
When ready to print a historical novel, Henry Longin Rogowski reached with particular interest, courtesy of the author. The book regards the difficult times of the history of the nation, and the author really very interesting and very vividly describes the struggles of Polish warriors with the Tartars, Cossacks of Chmielnicki and finally the Swedes. The author consciously faced with Sienkiewicz's trilogy, and I dare say, with great success. Longin Henry Rogowski book is not only novel, which reads very well in August. It is above all a very good and interesting account of those days, special days, the Poles and wasniach przywarach, finally, the love of the hero's novels to Anne, a girl coming from a noble family. Weightlessness is the author handles surprises in describing events, very vividly describes the battle, as also can excite the beautiful descriptions of Polish land, najezdzanej and raked in those days. Weakened nation, plagued disease and multi-ordami struggles of Tartar, and then the Cossacks, is to fight Swedish breaks down. And here again amaze with descriptions of the author's descriptions of the struggles, which lasted many years. The author consciously reflects the issues of patriotism and national consciousness, especially evident during the reign of King John Casimir.
Of particular cruelty and aggression against the defenseless population contributed to the ultimate unification of most of the Poles against the invaders. It was just time, in which type of patriotism was born, who gave a chance for survival and victory. Very alive and vivid descriptions in the book, and interesting threads, even love, account for about its value.
I recommend you with this book, and publishers encourage you to reach down to the present, because it is a novel written with great verve and talent, and at the same time with a huge transfer of value consciousness, especially, young readers.
For lovers of Sienkiewicz, "Crete road" can be Delicja.
Rogowski can argue that it is epigone Sienkiewicz. The allegation, however, rather ambiguous, if someone accused me that I am epigone Boleslaw Prus, have accepted it as a compliment.
A compliment, please Rogowski. Maybe more than you compliment.
